This differential drop kit is designed to be fitted to the front differential of your Independent Front Suspension (IFS) vehicle. When you install a suspension lift on an IFS vehicle, the angle of the front CV joints is increased, putting them under additional stress. This bolt-on kit from Roadsafe lowers your front differential by approximately 25mm, correcting the geometry of the front driveshaft and CVs.
By reducing the operating angle of the CV joints, this kit is essential for preventing accelerated wear on the joints and the rubber CV boots. It's a crucial modification for any lifted vehicle to ensure the longevity and reliability of your drivetrain components, especially when fitting larger wheels and tyres.
Without correcting the CV joint angle, the increased stress can cause the CV boots to split and fail. This allows the vital lubricating grease to escape and contaminants like dirt and water to enter, leading to rapid wear and the premature, expensive failure of the entire CV joint, which could leave you stranded on the trail.
