This pipe is located in the engine bay and connects directly to the turbocharger, carrying hot, pressurised air towards the intercooler. The original plastic pipes are exposed to constant heat cycles which can cause them to become brittle and fail. A common issue is for the pipe to crack or split, usually along the seam, leading to a major boost leak.
If not replaced, a leaking intake pipe will cause a significant loss of engine power, excessive black smoke from the exhaust, poor fuel economy, and can trigger the vehicle to enter limp mode. Your engine will feel unresponsive and sluggish until the leak is fixed.
