This oxygen sensor is located in your vehicle's exhaust system on the passenger side (left-hand side), positioned after the catalytic converter. It is a direct replacement for the original post-catalytic (downstream) oxygen sensor.
This sensor's primary role is to measure the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas after it has been treated by the catalytic converter. This information is sent to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to monitor the converter's efficiency. A replacement is necessary when the old sensor fails, sending incorrect data or no data at all, which typically triggers a 'Check Engine' light on your dashboard.
There is two of these required per vehicle POST CAT, (1 for drivers side & 1 for passenger side (SOLD SEPARATELY).
