This is a complete seal kit for the power steering pump on a GU Patrol. To re-seal the pump completely you will also need a bearing part no. 6203-2RS. If your power steering pump is leaking fluid, rather than risk running your pump dry and destroying it, put a seal kit through it.
If a leaking power steering pump is ignored, the fluid level can drop dangerously low. This can cause the pump to run dry, leading to catastrophic internal failure and a complete loss of power assistance. This makes the vehicle extremely difficult to steer, especially at low speeds, posing a significant safety risk. The pump can also seize, which can snap the drive belt, causing other critical components like the alternator and water pump to stop working.
